I got a fake hand and arm at Goodwill for $2 bucks. I noticed at zombie gatherings that some had the same thing, all pink and flesh tone color but really did not look real. I decided I was going to do something different and be creative. I started playing with the latex and as I did, I added elmers glue and some blue, some green paint and red and black. I did this in layers slowly adding color here and there but lightly as the coats of latex added up. I did this over time, took me several days to do, I also added fake blood to give it the richness of depth of blood color. Now for the layers you see that stretch over the arm I applied to my own arm two light coats of latex and with my finger that I used the latex that had dried upon my finger I lightly touched the latex on my arm and it came up in a sheet which I stretched over the fake arm and applied it and twisted at times to give it the layer of depth and texture as you see in the photo. I did this several times which gives you different textures of flesh and color tones. If you want deeper red pour some blood on arm let dry or til tacky then redo the layer of latex and stretch over blood area. Gives you the illusion of skin and blood below the skin.
It sounds hard to do but it really is not. I am an amature I just use my imagination on these pieces. Anyone can do this, it is simple to do and no, no one can get it wrong zombies come in many colors of rotting flesh so no color scheme is wrong. Hope you like my idea and yep scared peeps out of their socks with it. Enjoy!
